Perim is a tabletop desk lamp that literally takes reduction to the edge: made from only a single piece of bent sheet metal, it nevertheless offers all the basic functionality of a reading or work lamp. It is automatically stabilized when attached to the tabletop by way of a mere slot on the edge of the table. As the designer points out, discarded literature might fi nd a second use here, in adjusting the inclination (and thus the height) of the lamp.
